Synopsis

When failed rock guitarist Dewey Finn poses as his roommate to earn some quick cash as a substitute teacher, he lands a job at the elite Horace Green Preparatory School. Ill-prepared for classroom life, Dewey quickly discovers his students’ hidden musical talents and hatches a plan: turn them into a rock band and win the Battle of the Bands.

Along the way, Dewey inspires the kids to break free from academic pressure and overbearing parents, while they in turn teach him about responsibility, confidence, and purpose. With the help of no-nonsense principal Rosalie Mullins, who secretly harbours a love of rock, Dewey and the students learn to trust in themselves, fight “The Man,” and stick it to the system. Packed with high-energy rock anthems, heartfelt ballads, and unforgettable characters, School of Rock is a feel-good musical about finding your voice, embracing your inner misfit, and unleashing the power of music.
