Wedding Day is a poignant glimpse into the lives of three generations of women in the same family and the men who love them. Annie is a mother and grandmother whose husband Ted, died in World War II. Annie’s granddaughter Lynne is getting married and the majority of the play takes place before and after the ceremony at Annie’s daughter (Lynne’s mother) Helen’s house. Much of Annie’s time is spent these days in looking back on the past and we are invited into these remembrances, though she is not one to dwell on things and is perfectly able to offer words of wisdom to her only grandchild when the need arises.
